EasyPost Configuration

UltraCart uses the EasyPost service to print labels for FedEx and other carriers. Make sure you have signed up for an EasyPost account at https://www.easypost.com/ and connected your FedEx account within EasyPost. This is where knowing your FedEx account number and exact billing address is needed.

Once you have an EasyPost account, navigate to Configuration → Checkout → Shipping → Carriers → EasyPost and configure the settings as shown below.

Distribution Center Configuration

The next step is to configure the distribution center to print EasyPost labels using the 3rd party FedEx information provided by PeriShip. Navigate to Configuration → Checkout → Shipping → Distribution Centers → [edit] → EasyPost Overrides. Fill out the form using the 3rd party account information provided by PeriShip and save.

Package Configuration

Because perishable shipping is complex and often involves specialty coolers, make sure that you properly configure packaging under Configuration → Checkout → Shipping → Packages. More documentation on package confirmation is available here.

Perishable Class Configuration

Often perishable items require special coolants such as dry ice to be shipped. To specify this information, please configure a perishable call. More documentation on perishable classes is available here.

Item Configuration

On the first tab of the item editor, make sure that your weight and item dimensions are accurate. These values directly impact the packaging selected for the item and are critical that they are accurate.

Then on the shipping tab of the item editor make sure to specify the time in transit and the perisable item classification. This dictates which shipping methods are available to the customer and how much coolant will be included in the package.

If the item requires a specific package to ship in, that can be selected on the package requirements section of the shipping tab in the item editor as shown below.
