Price Update Tool
Introduction
The Price Update Tool is a utility that allows you to quickly update your store item prices in a spreadsheet-style format. This tool displays both your configured Retail Price and any associated Pricing Tiers (e.g., Wholesale).
Note: The Price Update Tool now supports displaying 1,000 items per page.
Stores with more than 1,000 items will see pagination controls to navigate through the full catalog.
Prerequisites
You must have items configured in your UltraCart account.
If you intend to update pricing tiers, ensure that the pricing tiers have already been created in Item Management.
Navigation
From the UltraCart Main Menu, go to:
Item Management → Price UpdateUltraCart will display your items in alphabetical order. Each row shows:
Item ID
Item Description
Retail Price
Pricing Tiers (if configured)
Tip: Folder hierarchy is not displayed within this tool.
Updating Prices
Locate the price field you wish to edit.
Click into the price box, delete the existing amount, and enter your new price.
Repeat for all items that require changes.
When finished, scroll to the bottom and click Save.
Setting Pricing Tier Amounts
This tool is also an efficient method for setting pricing tier amounts:
Create your pricing tier in Item Management if you have not already.
Open the Price Update Tool.
Update the pricing tier fields for each relevant item.
Click Save to apply your changes.
Alternative: Batch Item Updates
For stores with large catalogs, you may prefer to update prices using the Batch Item Export/Import process.
Export items to a spreadsheet using the Batch Item Export.
Edit prices in your preferred spreadsheet software.
Re-import the updated file using Batch Item Import.
Note: Batch processing is recommended for bulk edits across hundreds or thousands of items.
