Using AtData (formerly TowerData) to trigger Age/Gender related upsells

Introduction

AtData’s (formerly TowerData) Email Intelligence API helps you to understand who your customers are and to segment them by their attributes by providing 50+ demographic and behavioral data fields. Improve personalization and create more targeted, relevant content by obtaining:

  • Demographics such as age, gender and income

  • Life stages and financial segments

  • Shopper types such as deal-seeker and luxury shopper

Account Setup

First you will need to signup for an account with AtData here https://instantdata.atdata.com/users/sign_up

After you have signed up, you’ll need to configure an API key in their system to pull back age and/or gender demographic data. Since there is a cost for each data point that you pull back, only configure the demographic data that you are interested in using within UltraCart.

Configuration

Within UltraCart, navigate to Configuration → Integrations → AtData Email Intelligence. Next paste in your API key and save.

StoreFront Communications

Coming soon you will be able to leverage AtData attributes within StoreFront Communications segmentation, conditional branching, and flow filtering.

BigQuery Data Warehouse

The information that you’ve collected from AtData is also stored within the BigQuery Data Warehouse to allow you to consume this information in your business analytics. Below is a screenshot of the table provided. Please note that only the attributes that you’ve chosen to pay AtData for will be populated within this table.

FAQ

Q) How often do you query AtData for a given email?

A) Once per year. After a year we will re-query for new information the next time that the customer purchases.

Q) Can we back-fill data?

A) Yes, some merchants have purchased up front bulk credits from AtData in order to obtain data about their existing customer base. If you would like to back-fill data, please contact UltraCart Support.
