Overview
There are many situations in which you want to offer a item for free shipping to your customers.
Here's a list of the various ways to make an item for purchase with free shipping:
Item Configuration options
There are multiple locations within the item editor in which an item may be configure for free shipping. The first one appears in the shipping of the item/kit tab.

PLEASE NOTE:
In order for this Free Shipping Checkbox to work, you'll need to navigate to the Shipping Methods tab to the Shipping Configuration area in the Ultracart back-end and configure one or more of your shipping methods with the "Qualifies for Free Shipping" checkbox:
Item and Kit Editor Auto Order Tab
Auto Order items can be configured with a Free shipping option.
For Customer Selectable Auto Order Type:
For Automatic Auto Order Type the setting appears in the "Options" section:
Special Note for Auto Orders
The "Free Shipping" setting in the Auto Orders tab makes the first AND all subsequent orders free shipping!
