This is an optional configuration requested by merchants to constrain choices available to order editors. If these sections are populated, any custom field edits will be restricted to the original value and these lists. These values only affect order editing and have nothing to do with the customer's checkout experience. If a custom field has no values, that field will remain an open text field within the order edit screen. For example, you may wish to only constrain Custom Field 5, and may do so by providing a list below for only that field.

Configuring the Custom Value Sets

Main Menu → Configuration → (middle menu) Order Management → Custom Fields

Adding The Values Sets

The Custom Fields configuration editor presents a value set editor for each of the custom fields:

• If a custom field is not configured with a value set, then that field remains an open edit field in the order editor.

• If a custom field has one of more values configured, then the field will be presented with a drop-down list consisting of the configured values.

In the screenshot below, Custom Field 5 is configured with a set of values, whereas Custom field 6 does not.
