SSL Renewal with GoDaddy

SSL Renewal with GoDaddy

This brief tutorial will cover the steps involved for renewing your custom SSL with GoDaddy.

1) Buy a credit for an SSL certificate with GoDaddy
2) Start the purchase process with GoDaddy
3) During the process they will ask you for a CSR (certificate signing request) file. This is what you generate via UltraCart. To generate this the CSR file go to:

Click on the "Renew with 3rd Party" button as shown below and fill out the form.

After you have completed the form you can either view the CSR or download it as shown below.

Click download CSR from UltraCart. This will safe a file to your computer named <secure host name>.csr. Keep track of where you save this file to.

4) Upload the CSR into GoDaddy.
5) Once GoDaddy issues the certificate you will download it as a ZIP file from their system. The zile file will be named <secure host name>.zip
6) The final step is to upload the certificate into UltraCart by going to:

Server Type

While purchasing the certificate you may be asked for a server type. Select Apache (Apache/Mod-SSL) for the server type if you have the option during the purchase process.

Click on the Upload Certificate button as shown below.

Click the browse button, locate the ZIP file you saved from GoDaddy, and then click the upload button as shown below.

Include the entire certificate code

When uploading the certificate in the unzipped format, do not remove the certificate header/footer as those are a required portion of the certificate.
