| ||
Main Menu > Configuration > (middle menu) Checkout > Shipping > Distribution Center (tab) > Either click the "Edit" or "New" buttons |
Configuration of the Distribution Center Tab
In the first tab of the Distribution Center editor, the Distribution Center tab, you'll configure the following details:
Field | Description | ||
---|---|---|---|
Code | Each distribution center should be assigned a 4-5 letter code. We recommend that the code be an abbreviation of your fulfillment center's name so that it has meaning when you see it.
| ||
Name | Medallion Fulfillment & Logistics | ||
Address1 | 20675 Nordhoff St. | ||
Address2 | leave this field blank | ||
City | Chatsworth | ||
Postal Code | 91311 | ||
State | CA | ||
Country | United States | ||
Hold Before Shipment | If you want to hold the order for a certain amount of time before it is shipped (or transmitted to your fulfillment house for shipment) you can specify that value here. Leaving it blank will allow the order to immediately transmit. Some merchant will set this to something along the lines of 30 or 60 minutes to allow for situations where the customer calls back shortly after placement requesting the order be cancelled. This prevents having to contact the fulfillment warehouse to have the shipment halted, in these situations. | ||
Checkbox setting: "Hold the shipment for review before transmission to fulfillment house." | This is normally left unchecked. This setting will hold all orders that reach the shipping department from transmitting to fulfillment, requiring you to manually navigate to the shipping department and slect and release the orders for transmiission. | ||
Checkbox setting "Send Kit ID instead of component item ids (only use if your fulfillment house doesn't perform conversions)." | Leave unchecked unless otherwise instructed by Medallion Fulfillment. | ||
Checkbox setting: "Send zero weight items (normally zero weight items are omitted from transmission)" | Leave unchecked. | ||
QuickBooks Code (QuickBooks Enterprise Only) | Configure the Quickbooks code only if you are using the Quickbooks Enterprise edition software. It does not apply otherwise (and will not appear unles you have already configured the UltraBooks application. |
Delivery Blackouts Tab
If there are dates that you know deliveries are not possible (December 25th, January 1st, etc.) and you want to prevent customers from selecting those dates during the checkout, enter them below. Otherwise leave this tab unconfigured.
Location Preferences Tab
By default each distribution center can ship to anywhere around the globe. UltraCart will select the distribution center that is the shortest distance away from the customer as long as there is available inventory there. There may be circumstances where you have a distribution center that can only serve a particular set of places. For instance you may have a Canadian distribution center that is only meant to handle Canadian orders. Using preferences you can enforce these types of restrictions.
You do not need to configure preferences unless you have multiple shipping DC's handling different locations.
Order Status Codes Tab
This tab does not apply to the integreation with an external fulfillment service. Skip this tab.
Shipment Blackouts
If your distribution center has specific dates that they are not shipping, enter them below. Configure this tab as instructed by Medallion Fulfillment.
Shipment Cuttoff Times
Time each day that orders must be received by in order to ship. This information will be used to calculate the shipment day. Some shippers will provide a number of days in transit which will be used to tell the customer the estimated date of delivery. Enter all times in 24 hour format EST time zone. If you only ship on certain days of the week, fill out cut-off times for those days and leave all the other days blank.
Shipment Processing Time
If any order takes time to prepare for shipment then you can configure additional processing days. This will increase the date that the order actually ships. If you leave the processing days blank then UltraCart will assume that you are shipping same day as long as the cut-off time has been met.
This should be left blank unless specifically instructed to configure it by Medallion Fulfillment.
Transmission Mechanism
- Scroll down the list and select "FTP" mechanism,
