Extensiv

Extensiv

This guide outlines the process for integrating UltraCart with Extensiv (formerly known as 3PL Central) to automate your order fulfillment, inventory management, and shipping updates.

Note: While the company has rebranded to Extensiv, the UltraCart administration panel currently retains the label 3PLCentral for these configuration settings.

Overview

Extensiv provides a third-party fulfillment platform that manages pick, pack, and ship operations. The integration is bidirectional (labeled as 2W in the configuration screen), meaning data flows both ways between UltraCart and the fulfillment center to keep orders and inventory in sync.

Prerequisites

Before beginning the integration, ensure you have gathered the following information from your Extensiv contact:

  • Technical Contact Information: Name, phone, and email.

  • Communication Credentials: Server URL, username, password, or API Key.

  • Transmission Protocol: Determine if you will use FTP, SFTP, FTPSSL, or an API-based mechanism.

Configuration Steps

1. Access the Distribution Center Settings

Log in to your UltraCart account and navigate to the following path: HomeConfigurationShippingDistribution CentersDistribution Center.

2. Select the Fulfillment Provider

From the list of available providers, locate the section for Extensiv:

  • Select the radio button for 3PLCentral.

  • Alternatively, select 3PLCentral (REST) if your provider specifically requires the REST API integration.

3. Enter Credentials

Once selected, enter the following credentials provided by your 3PL:

  • 3PLCentral Key

  • 3PLCentral ID

  • 3PLCentral Facility ID

  • 3PLCentral Customer ID

  • 3PLCentral Customer Login

  • 3PLCentral Customer Password

4. Map Shipping Methods

To ensure orders are shipped using the correct carrier service, you must map your UltraCart shipping methods to the fulfillment center's codes.

  • Click the View button next to Supported Shipping Methods.

  • Enter the specific fulfillment center code for each carrier method, such as FedEx Ground, UPS Next Day Air, or USPS Priority Mail.

5. Define Communication and File Standards

If your integration requires specific file transmissions (FTP, SFTP, or FTPSSL), configure the following:

  • File Format: Specify if files should be Text, CSV, or XML.

  • File Naming: Define the naming convention for order and inventory files (e.g., order-YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS.csv).

  • Directories: Specify folder paths for Inbound Orders, Outbound Tracking, and Outbound Shipment Confirmation.

Finalizing the Integration

After entering the configuration details in the backend, you must notify the UltraCart support team to finalize the request.

  1. Send an email to support@ultracart.com.

  2. Use the subject line: “Fulfillment Integration Request”.

  3. Include any additional required details such as:

    • Warehouse Address and Sales Contact information.

    • Confirmation on whether the 3PL processes credit cards.

    • Whether files are encrypted.

    • Server, Username, and Password for the transmission mechanism.
