Introduction

This tutorial describes an easy approach to implementing a sitewide sale, such as a 10% off all items sale, using the auto apply coupon feature.

Steps

Applying a sitewide discount can be accomplished by configuring the coupon then applying it using the auto apply coupon configuration.

1. Creating the Coupon

2. Configuring discount coupon using the auto apply coupon configuration.

First navigate to the coupon configuration page:
Main Menu: Configuration → (middle menu) Checkout → Coupons

1. Click the ‘create coupon’ button

2. Type into the coupon type field ‘percentage’, then select the ‘Percentage off subtotal’ (or preferred variation of that coupon type') then configure the coupon with the 10.00% discount.

3. Save the coupon

4. Next scroll down the coupon configuration page to the ‘Auto Apply’ section and configure the coupon, using the minimum subtotal configuration. Set the minimum amount, then click the ‘Please select' text, then search for the code for the 10% of subtotal coupon that you created:

5. Then test the configuration by browsing your store and adding one or more items to your shopping cart.
