Shipedge
Introduction
This page contains instructions for configuring Shipedge as a transmission mechanism in your Distribution Center to automatically send orders to ShipStation and receive tracking numbers in return.
About Shipedge
Shipedge is designed to automate the entire order management lifecycle, includes a modular and scalable system featuring an Order Management System (OMS), a Warehouse Management System (WMS), and embedded shipping tools, enabling businesses to manage multi-channel operations, optimize inventory, and streamline fulfillment across single or multiple warehouses.
Integrating Shipedge with UltraCart
This guide will walk you through integrating Shipedge with your UltraCart account for order fulfillment processing. This integration enables UltraCart to transmit orders to Shipedge and ensures proper SKU mapping and shipping method configuration. In additional to transmitting orders and receiving tracking numbers, this integration will also sync inventory from Shipedge to UltraCart items.
Overview
The integration process involves three main steps:
Configuring the UltraCart transmission mechanism to connect with Shipedge.
Configuring shipping methods, including custom codes for specific shipping options. Because of the flexibility of Shipedge, this is an optional step, but helpful for streamlining your workflow on the Shipedge side.
Mapping SKUs for your items. This is required if your Shipedge sku differs from your UltraCart Item ID.
Prerequisites
You must have an active Shipedge account.
Log in to your Shipedge account in a separate browser window. You will need your Shipedge screens to gather your Shipedge credentials.
Configuring the UltraCart Transmission Mechanism to Work with ShipStation
NAVIGATE:
Main Menu → Configuration → (middle menu) Checkout--> Shipping → ('Shipping Config' menu) Distribution Centers → Transmission Mechan → Select ‘Shipedge’ in radio button list
Either click ‘New Distribution Center’ button or edit an existing Distribution Center.
Click Transmission Mechanism
Select Shipedge
Then configure the displayed Ship Edge credentials:
Shipedge Integration Credentials
Shipedge API Key
Shipedge Account ID
Shipedge Warehouse
Store ID
Note: These credentials are provided by Shipedge. If you do not have them or are unsure where to locate them, please contact Shipedge Support for assistance. Their team can verify your account and help you gather the required information to complete the UltraCart integration setup.
Per Shipedge: “The information needed is found in their OMS, at the top menu bar there is an option for preferences under the account option.
Shipedge recommends creating an API Integration in the Channel Automation section. This will provide a Store ID.
Configuring Shipping Methods
After configuring the transmission mechanism, you will configure your shipping methods to ensure proper mapping between UltraCart and Shipedge.
NOTE: This is required, your Shipedge orders will show as “unmapped” and you will not have streamlined label printing accessible until you specify a mapping on the Shipedge side.
If your store is tied to automatic fulfillment, unmapped shipping methods will cause errors or order rejection.
Navigate to your shipping methods in the Shipping section.
NAVIGATE:
Home → Configuration (Checkout) → Shipping → (middle menu) Methods → Edit a shipping method → 'Other' Tab
Mapping Custom Shipping Methods
On the "Other" tab of your shipping method, scroll down to the Custom Shipping Method Codes section. Enter the Custom Shipping Method Code for Transport = Shipedge.
Enter the name exactly as it appears in your Shipedge system.

Item SKU Mapping
If your UltraCart item IDs and Shipedge SKUs are identical (especially if your Shipedge SKUs are the same as your UPPERCASED UltraCart Item IDs), SKU mapping will happen automatically, and no further action is required. However, if they differ, you must configure SKU mapping for each item.
NAVIGATE:
Home → Items → Item Management → (edit an item) → Edit a shipping method → Shipping tab → Inventory Control and Distribution button
For your distribution center that is connected to Shipedge, enter the SKU for each item if it differs from the actual Merchant Item ID.
Troubleshooting via the Integration Log
Use the integration logs to review the Shipedge transmissions.
Navigate: Main Menu → Operations → Reporting → ('Integrations' section) Logs -ALL → Filter Logs (Button)
Opening the Shipedge Transmission Logs
