Introduction

Customer management in UltraCart helps you better understand your buyers, improve retention, and increase lifetime value. With detailed customer profiles, activity tracking, order history, and integrated marketing tools, you have everything you need to build long-term customer relationships—right inside your UltraCart dashboard.

Whether you're supporting repeat buyers, issuing refunds, or building loyalty programs, UltraCart's customer features give you a clear, actionable view of your customers and their journey.

Prerequisite: Ensure that you’re logged into your UltraCart admin and have customer data from orders or account signups.

Quickstart

To quickly get started with customer management:

  1. Navigate to CRM > Customer in your UltraCart admin.

  2. Use the search tools to find any customer.

  3. Click on a customer to access their full profile.

  4. View tabs for Profile, Orders, Activity, and Accounting.

  5. Take actions like resending emails, issuing refunds, or managing marketing consent.

Key Areas of Customer Management

Each customer record in UltraCart contains a rich set of tabs that organize their personal, transactional, and behavioral data. Below is a quick summary of what you’ll find in each section when viewing a customer profile:

General

View and edit basic customer information such as email address, password, signup details, website URL, tags, business notes, and merchant notes. You can also control settings like approved signup status and CC email notifications.

Billing

Store and manage all billing addresses associated with the customer. Configure payment customizations like:

  • Disabling coupons

  • Allowing purchase orders

  • Assigning to pricing tiers

  • Setting minimum subtotal requirements
    Also includes vaulted payment methods (credit card data stored securely, with no sensitive details exposed).

Shipping

Contains all shipping addresses tied to the customer. Includes custom shipping preferences like free shipping eligibility or override options.

Accounting

Stores accounting-specific data for integrations such as QuickBooks — including accounting codes, classes, and other financial tags used for internal reporting or external software syncs.

Loyalty

Displays the customer’s loyalty program participation. Shows available loyalty currency and provides a ledger of past and future loyalty transactions.

Orders

A complete list of the customer’s past orders, with quick links to detailed order pages for reviewing items, shipping status, payment methods, and more.

Quotes

If your store uses the quoting system, this tab will list any quote requests or active quotes associated with the customer.

Reviews

Shows all product reviews submitted by this customer. Includes review content, moderation status, auto-approval settings, and expert tagging options for tailoring the review display.

Uploads

If your store collects files from customers (e.g., tax exemption certificates or custom artwork), these will appear here for reference and download.

Taxes

Displays any customer-specific tax settings such as:

  • Resale or tax exemption ID numbers

  • External tax software IDs (e.g., Avalara, TaxJar)

Software

If your customer has purchased any software licenses via your store, their license details will be displayed here, including activation and access information.

Memberships

Lists all marketing list memberships or email segments the customer belongs to. Useful for email campaign targeting and segmentation strategy.

Activity

A dashboard of customer engagement and interaction metrics. Includes:

  • Lifetime value and order stats

  • Marketing communication performance

  • Product history

  • Storefront session data (including screen recordings, if enabled)
