Sharing Reviews Between Similar Items

Often times merchants sell the same underlying product using many different item ids. For example a merchant might have a vitamin C supplement that they sell via items for:

• 1 bottle

• 3 bottle

• 6 bottle

• upsell add on bottle

etc. When the customer is asked to write a review via an automated StoreFront Communications Email Flow (the most effective way to get customers to write reviews) or by clicking the Write Review button on your StoreFront, that review is stored against the individual item. It’s ideal to roll up these reviews into a consistent opinion about the product regardless of whether they purchased a certain quantity of the product, etc.

To do this, pick the item ID that represents the main product. In this example we’re going to navigate to the Reviews tab of the VITAMINC-3-BOTTLE item, configure it share reviews with VITAMINC, and save the item.

This field can also be configured through the batch item export / import tools if you have a large number of items and are comfortable with managing your items via spreadsheets.
