How to Reset Your UltraCart Password
This guide will walk you through the process of logging into your UltraCart account using a forgot password, temporary password and then updating it to a new permanent password.
Overview
When you request a password reset, UltraCart sends an email containing a temporary password. This temporary password is valid for 24 hours and can only be used for a single login. After successfully logging in with the temporary password, you must immediately change it to a new permanent password.
What You'll Need
The "Reset Password" email notification containing your temporary password.
Note: The temporary password is for single use and expires in 24 hours. Do not attempt to use example passwords found in documentation; always refer to the specific email you received.
You can request a reset password by clicking on the “Forgot password?” link within the password field while logging in, as shown below:
When you click on the Forgot Password? link it will take you to a new page where you will need to provide your Merchant ID and User ID, as shown below:
Steps
Once you have received your Temporary password notification. Below is an example notification:
Using the Reset Password Option
Locate the "Reset Password" email notification you received.
Click on the link to Reset your password.
This will take you to a new page, to create a new password.
Enter your new password and confirmation password.
Click the "Reset Password" button.
Password Requirements
UltraCart enforces specific password policies for security:
Length: Your password must be between 8 and 20 characters long.
Complexity: It should include a combination of letters and numbers. Special characters are also allowed.
Re-use Policy: You cannot reuse any previously used passwords for a period of 365 days. This effectively means you will use at least four unique passwords per year.
Policy Enforcement: There is a 90-day password policy for all user logins, except for those using an UltraSecure One-Time Password (OTP) token.
Changing Your Password
Once you have successfully logged in using the temporary password, you will need to immediately update it.
After logging into UltraCart, hover your mouse over your Merchant ID, which is located on the left side of the screen.
From the dropdown menu, click on Your Preferences.
On the Preferences page, scroll down to the New Password section.
In the New Password field, enter your desired permanent password.
In the Confirm Password field, re-enter your new permanent password to confirm it.
Scroll down and click the Save button.
Expected Outcome
After completing these steps, your UltraCart account password will be updated to your new permanent password. You will then use this new password for all future logins.
